About Bluebird Behavioral Health
At Bluebird Behavioral Health, we believe meaningful mental health care begins with understanding the whole person.
Founded by Kara Cannarozzo, FNP, PMHNP, Bluebird was created to provide individualized, thoughtful medication management for children, adolescents, and adults, with a special focus on autistic individuals, people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), traumatic brain injuries and those with complex behavioral and mental health needs.
With more than 15 years of experience caring for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and complex needs, Kara understands that mental health care is rarely one-size-fits-all. Changes in mood, behavior, sleep, or functioning can have many contributing factors—and understanding them means looking beyond a diagnosis.
At Bluebird, we take time to learn about you or the person you care for—including strengths, communication style, sensory needs, developmental and medical history, daily environment, relationships, previous treatments, and the people who provide support.
Care is collaborative. When appropriate, parents, caregivers, guardians, therapists, medical providers, schools, care managers, residential teams, and other supports can be included to help create a more complete picture and a coordinated approach to treatment.
Most importantly, every person deserves the opportunity to be heard and included in their care—whether they communicate through spoken language, AAC, gestures, behavior, or in another way that works for them.
Individualized Care. Personalized Medication Management. Empowering Every Voice.
Who We Support
Bluebird Behavioral Health provides care for children ages 7 and older, adolescents, and adults. Care is individualized based on developmental level, communication and sensory needs, medical and behavioral complexity, and the concerns being addressed. Because every person's needs are different, appropriateness for telehealth services is determined individually.
Why the Bluebird?
The bluebird represents hope, growth, and the possibility of change. Its song also reminds us that every voice matters—and that every person deserves to be heard, understood, and supported in a way that honors who they are.
